Expertise and role in the project:
The Institute of Food Safety and Nutrition of JAAS conducts research on mechanisms of occurrence of risk factos in agro-products from production source to post-production processing, monitoring risks and hazardous factors from “farms to tables”. The Institute has undertaken over 40 national and provincial research projects, published 80 papers, and granted with 46 patents. JAAS will lead WP2 for development of DSS and mitigation strategies for enhancing hazard control throughout the four infant food chains chosen as case studies.
Key persons involved (5 persons maximum):
Ying Liang (F), Dr., Associate research professor in food safety. She will be the leader of WP2. She joined JAAS in 2008 and has been engaged in research on detection and risk assessment of food hazards. She was in charge of 13 projects, published 23 papers, and obtained 7 patents.
Yong Li (M), Dr., Associate research professor in analytical chemistry. He has been working in JAAS since 2015 with focus on quality analysis of agricultural products: 2 research projects and 9 publications.
Ya Wang (M), Dr., Assistant research professor in applied marine biology. He joins JAAS in early 2019 working on migration and transformation behavior of persistent organic pollutants and heavy metal pollutants in water and crops: 2 research projects and 8 publications.
Jinjin Cheng (F), Dr., Assistant research professor in environmental science. She has been working in JAAS since 2015 engaging in studies on environmental fate of persistent toxic pollutants: 2 research projects and 5 publications.
Fayun Feng (M), Master, Assistant research professor in microbiology. He joined JAAS in 2015 with resuerach focus on functional endophytes and their interactions with agricultural plants: 5 publications.
